All our Firebobs are hand built with slight variations and so the firebrick sets sometimes need a little ‘tweaking’ to get a nice fit! The vermiculite bricks are easy to shape with wood saws/files/sandpaper.
Asa general rule, the firebricks do not need replacing unless they are in danger of disintegrating or falling out of position and exposing the metalwork behind them. The odd crack in a firebrick is not detrimental to the stove and does not necessarily need replacing.
